Accessorize: like working out but instead of building your muscles, you’re building your collection of accessories. 😛 (Yes, I made that up.)

Happy Monday! Aside from my silly definition, some days simple outfits with a few key accessories are the best. I am in love with this new necklace from Bohora Jewelry. I just got it last week and have already worn it out three times! They have the most amazing jewelry in the perfect color combinations! Their store just launched last week, and they are offering 40% off with the code SAVE40. Which is an amazing deal! So get your Christmas shopping done, and get yourself something too. (Because if you’re like me, when you go out shopping for someone, you have to buy yourself something too. “This is my present for successfully getting you a present”. Works in my brain every time. 😛 )

Now about this cute clutch from Liz Alig. I have a special place in my heart for tribal prints. Probably because I grew up going to Mexico to work in the orphanages, and it always reminds me of that. Liz Alig is a fair trade company that uses recycled materials to produce their products and works with people in developing countries to encourage their economic growth. If you didn’t notice in the pictures, the clutch came with a little tag that says, “I used to be a traditional skirt…I was recycled by women from Guatemala into this garment”. Like HOW COOL is that!? The answer is super cool. And you and the person you’re buying a present for probably need one of these too. 😛

Sooooo I will leave you with one final thought. You need these high waist jeans. They are super comfortable and the perfect length on top and bottom annnnnd on sale for $25! Plus my hubby could not stop saying how much he loved this outfit. What is it with guys and simple outfits that involve ponytails?! 😛

Hope you have the best week!

Fall Fringe

fall, fashion, Forever 21, lifestyle

Shirt: Forever 21 here; Skirt: Forever 21 here; Sandals: Forever 21 here; Bracelets: Bohora Store c/o here; Necklace: Forever 21 here

You guys. Why is Forever 21 the best? Like I cannot go in there without buying something. Especially when you see the price tags. Like hellooooo. That’s cheaper than a dinner for two at Chipotle. (That’s Ben’s favorite so I obviously have to compare my shopping love with his second love. I’m the first #obvi.) So I’m sure you’ve noticed fringe is EVERYWHERE. And I’m loving it. I want everything with a little swoosh to it. And suede too. It’s the perfect way to add texture to an outfit without being to bold. So if fringe is still a little scary for you, try something suede first! P.S. I’m superly (yes, that’s a word) considering this for one of my fall purchases.

How has everyone’s week been? Mine has been full of work and life stuff per usual. Ben is gone for several days this week for his Marine training so I’m staying busy as much as I can (should probably slow down enough to get the house clean though…boring). I’m doing hair for a wedding and then going to it. Sad to go without Ben but at least it’s with tons of our friends so it won’t be the kind where you don’t know anyone AND you’re by yourself!

Happy weekending!

Thank you all for coming by!

Denim Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit: Forever 21 here; Shoes: Public Desire c/o here

Hieeeee! And happy Tuesday! So California really can’t seem to get its weather situation together these days. It hasn’t been less than 90 in the last week! So that means fall clothes aren’t quite sneaking into my wardrobe yet (unless for a photo shoot, you’ll see what I mean later this week 😛 ). But this jumpsuit is THE perfect transition piece. The long sleeves don’t scream summer or fall, but paired with a dark lips and shoes, they give a slight nod toward fall. And that’s about all that So Cal will allow for at this time!

Hope you all had the best weekend! I seriously feel like I’ve been going non-stop! I worked and then had SO much to do at home and errands and stuff! It’s crazy how long some of those things take sometimes! Ben got home from his Marine weekend Sunday night, and we got to snuggle and talk. Hence why this blog post is coming to you a day late! My motto is if it interferes with time that can be spent with your friends, hubby or family, it can wait a day! Yesterday, we got to go workout together and have breakfast at our favorite spot, and I was thankful for a little down time before our weeks get crazy!

Hope you all have the best week!

Boho Braided Headband Tutorial

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Well hello there, Monday. This weekend was CRAZY. Crazy busy. Crazy fun. Just crazy. I had a wedding I did hair for Saturday at the MOST beautiful resort ever in L.A. called Terrenea Resort and Spa. It was absolutely incredible. We got to attend the wedding as well, and had the best time. They had a live band that literally played anything and everything. They were insanely good and kept me on the dance floor all night! My only regret is that we didn’t stay the night to enjoy the pool and the grounds the next day. AND GUESS WHAT?! I didn’t know, but one of my favorite bloggers ever, Cara Loren, was there over the weekend for an event. I’m so sad I didn’t know. I would have found her and met her for SURE! Yesterday was my best friend’s wedding shower so I helped with that, and it was so fun to get all the wedding festivities started!

So I finally have another hair tutorial for you! I feel like I’ve done so many on my channel already that sometimes it’s hard to come up with something new! But here it is. I have been LOVING this hairstyle. It’s actually very rare for me to repeat an exact hairstyle (like I might do something similar but I’ll change it up a little; I’m the same with outfits too 😛 ). But this one I have repeated. So that means it’s a really good one. I absolutely love it, and every time I wear it people stop me and ask if it’s my hair and tell me they love it! So I hope you love it too! Don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel, and tag me if you try this hairstyle.

Lots of love!

Romper Maxi

fashion, lifestyle, style

Dress: Alter Ego Fashions c/o here; Shoes: Forever 21, sold out, similar here; Circles Necklace: One Native Heart c/o here; Bar Necklace: Speaklable c/o here

This dress will forever go down in history as the romper I thought was a maxi dress. When I originally ordered this dress/romper from Alter Ego Fashions, I just thought it was a maxi dress (the romper part was hiding in the stock photo 😛 ). And I almost didn’t get it because I had recently posted a floral maxi and wasn’t sure if I should do another one (#bloggerprobs) but then I decided it didn’t matter because I really loved it. Then, lo and behold, it came in the mail, and the romper was THE best surprise when I put it on! Like seriously, have you ever seen anything like this?! I hadn’t. And it combines my two fave clothing items, rompers and dresses! What more could you ask for?! The perfect fun item to add to your closet, if you ask me!

This week has felt so busy! I’ve been working and had lots of errands to do. Plus Ben has been working a lot. He actually is just coming home this morning from working a 48-hour shift. (Crazy, right?!) So when he’s gone, I try to get everything done so we can hang out when he gets home. Today I work and then tomorrow I am doing hair for a wedding, and then we are going to it! It should be super fun. It’s by the beach, and it’s a Jewish wedding. I’ve never been to one! And I’m looking forward to seeing all the fun traditions associated with that! Have any of you ever been to a Jewish wedding?!

I hope you all have the best weekend! I finally did a new hair tutorial so that will be up sometime next week! Yay!

Love you all!

Flowy White Dress

fashion, lifestyle

Dress: Romwe c/o here; Shoes: Public Desire c/o here; Hat: Target, similar here; Necklace: Charlotte Russe, similar here (under $10!); Belt: Forever 21 Bolo Tie, similar here

Good morning, and happy Wednesday! This past weekend when we were camping, I brought along a few outfits “just in case” I ended up wanting to shoot. But I sort of thought if it wasn’t done on the first day we got there, I wouldn’t do it. You know because of the whole beach camping where there’s no showers situation. 😛

But on the last day, I decided what the heck, I’ll just do it even if there’s still sand in my hair and between my toes! I had been eyeing this spot all weekend and thought it would be the perfect fit for this dress. This dress is from Romwe, and they have THE best deals. I love how flowy this dress is, and it could also be worn as a beach cover-up too! This whole look has a Free People vibe, but for a fraction of the cost, and I’m obsessed!

And let’s talk about these shoes…amazing right? They are from this UK store called Public Desire, and they have the cutest shoe styles all at really reasonable prices. I was digging the oxblood, maroon, merlot, bordeaux (pick your name 😛 ) color trend last year for fall, and still am this year! These shoes have already gotten tons of use, and I know they will continue to as fall approaches! The heel is perfect too for me as this is about as high as I’ll get for shoes I wear on a day to day basis! I can even manage them for one of my shorter days at the salon which is saying something for the girl who barely wears heels. 😛

Does anyone else feel like it should be the weekend already?! I’ve only worked one day this week, and it wasn’t even a long day. But for some reason, I just feel like it should be! I have a busy rest of the week ahead of me, working, doing a wedding and getting ready for my BFF’s bridal shower on Sunday! So maybe not a good thing I’ve already got the Friday feels. 😛 At least there’s coffee.

Thanks as always for coming by!

Liquido Active

Tee: Forever 21(sold out online, but I just got it in store last week!), simliar here; Sports Bra: Forever 21 here; Pants: Liquido Active c/o here; Shoes: Nike Air Max Thea here; Watch: Target Men’s, similar here; Necklace: One Native Heart c/o here

Happy Monday! Ben and I just got back last night from our little weekend camping trip and had the best time. I’ll probably be doing a little post about sometime this week! Meanwhile you can see a few photos on Instagram if you haven’t already.

If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I LOVE to workout and eat healthy. I do a combination of running and CrossFit and eat what I guess you would call a paleo-ish diet (with lots of wiggle room for those days I want nachos and ice cream 😛 ). And if there’s anything I love almost as much as regular clothes, it’s workout clothes!

So this post is all about these AMAZING pants from Liquido Active. I may not post all the time about workout clothes but I LOVE them. There’s just something about having a cute outfit to put on when I’m going for a run or to hit the gym that just makes me feel motivated. These pants from Liquido Active are different than any other pair I have. They are made from Lycra and are seriously incredibly comfortable. Like feel like a second skin comfortable. The material is so soft and breathable, and I just want to live in them even when I’m not at the gym! (I know a huge concern for a lot of us girls is if pants are see through when you bend over. And these ones passed a triple check in the mirror #imaginethat. Just kidding. Don’t. 😛 ) They have SO many cute patterns and colors so make sure you check them out!

So funny story. I took these photos with my brother in law and showed him some examples of stuff I liked and ideas for the shoot. And then after I did, we both realized that to accomplish the look, I had to look “hard”. And I’m not very good at that. I kept trying and then just cracking up. The last photo is me just laughing at myself trying to be hard. I maybe accomplished it in a few though, yah? 😛

Hope you all have the best week!

Thank you for coming by!

Fall Dreaming

blog, fashion, lifestyle

^^oh you know, just singing and stuff 😛

Dress: SheIn c/o here; Shoes: Forever 21 here

I’ve slowly started gravitating towards fall colors. It’s not cooling down by any means in California but I’m getting excited to at least wear jeans and fall colors! This dress from SheIn is the perfect transition piece! It’s still light and breezy fabric so you can stay cool! If you click on the link, you will see that the dress is split all the way up so I ended up pinning it in place. You could also wear a cute slip instead, or it would even be cute left open and styled with leather leggings and booties when it actually does cool off! And I obviously am loving these gladiators a lot! It took me a while to hop on board with the high ones, but I’m glad I did!

What are you all up to this weekend? Ben and I are going camping AGAIN! I’m able to sort of schedule work whenever I want so since Ben has off, we figured what the heck, let’s go again! It’s so great that I can just plan my schedule around Ben’s that he has right now so we can spend quality time together. We haven’t always had this much freedom to spend time together, and it feels like such a treat so I’m gonna soak it up!

Happy weekend!

Christine

A Fair Affair

fashion, lifestyle, summer

I looked around for the “right” person to ask to take our photo for a solid minute. #winning

Dress: Alter Ego Fashion c/o here; Shoes: H&M, almost exact here; Circles Necklace: One Native Heart c/o here; Choose Joy Bar Necklace: Speakable c/o here; Turquoise Necklace: Old, similar here; Fave Lippie Ever: NYX Indie Flick here

Last Thursday, Ben and I went on an impromptu date to the fair and had THE best time. We people watched and look through the photography gallery (our fave) and then rode the Ferris wheel. I have actually never been on a Ferris wheel with a boy I liked, and seriously it was just as magical as I imagined. And the view from the top was amazing. All the colorful lights and just ahhhh.

So when it came to choosing an outfit for the fair, this little number from Alter Ego Fashions was a no brainer. The perfect little casual dress for a fun date night. I added tennies to keep with the casual vibe I wanted. If you want to see the tutorial on how to do this fishtail bun, go here. (Random fact, this is my most watched tutorial because some weirdos like my arms… 😛 )

Story time. This was the FIRST time I have ever done photos in an extremely public place with people bustling all around me. Usually when I do shoots, I try to avoid super public places. Even the occasional person walking by makes me feel a little squeamish, and I end up being super awkward. (AKA, singing to myself “Omg, there’s people walking byyyy” 😛 )  But I really wanted some photos at the fair in all it’s fair glory so I decided to just go for it. (Plus, I like to think I’m slowing getting used to this whole taking photos in public thing #imnot.) When I decided to really go for it, I didn’t realize what that would entail. All the fair prettiness made me feel kinda like a little kid, and I thought a photo of me jumping would be “sssss’cute”. I don’t know at what point though, I forgot I was wearing a dress. You guys. I flashed the fair. Like for real. I didn’t realized how high up my dress went, but I went over to Ben to look at the photos, um yeah…let’s just say I deleted that one so fast, and neglected to look around at all because I didn’t want to know who saw. I was even wearing a slip and that went up too. Ay caramba. Guess you could say it was a successful first shoot in public. 😛 And I will say that after I calmed down a little, I even braved the crowd again to finish up a few more shots.

Right before the fateful moment… 😛

Hope this brightens up your Wednesday.

You guys are the best!

Christine

Homeschool Dress

fashion, lifestyle

Dress: Forever 21 here (on sale); Lace Bralette: Fashion Young (not online), similar here, love this; Shoes: Love D, similar here, also here and here; Necklace: One Native Heart c/o here

So when I first saw this dress, I was strangely drawn to it and then somewhat repulsed by it. Right away I realized it was because of one thing: homeschool. THIS was a homeschool dress. Like the kind I was thankful I never had to wear. The kind you pair with your white ribbed Cherokee tee from Mervyn’s and your light up L.A. Gear’s. Um ya. No thank you. And shout out to my mom for not letting me wear this that way as a ten year old. 😛

Back story. I was homeschooled my ENTIRE life. Yes, all the way through high school too. In fact Cosmetology school was my first experience with public school. I know what you’re thinking. Crazy, right? And also, how did I have any friends? And wait, what? You’re normal? (Well if you only know me through this computer screen, I can only hope that you have assumed that. 😛 ) Those are the top two things people say to me when they find out I’m a “homeschooler”. Guys. I didn’t live under a rock for those thirteen years of my education. I had lots of friends, mostly from church, and a lot of whom I am still friends with to this day. As to the being normal part, well I’m not really sure. Maybe that just depends on your family and getting out and seeing the world. Or maybe I’m just one of the lucky few. Jk. I know a lot of you fellow homeschoolers are normal. 😛

So back to the dress. Yes, maybe it’s a little homeschool. But I kind like it. Pairing it with a crop instead of a t-shirt make it a little more stylish, and adding heels saves you from looking like you’re wearing a sack. And if some of you still think it looks like a sack, well you’re probably right but fashion is about trying new things right?!

P.S. How cute is this little necklace from One Native Heart?! I’m always looking for new dainty little necklaces to layer with my bar necklace and other ones. And I just love this one! By itself, it kind of reminds me of a flash tattoo which I love! Make sure to check out her cute little shop and see all the fun pieces she has.

P.P.S. For a tutorial on my hairstyle, go here. (You would just leave more of the sides down. Also. It’s one of my older tutorials. Be nice. 😛 )

Hope you all had the best weekend!

Thanks for coming by!
